Samsung said on Monday that preorders for its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone are proving to be more popular than last year's Galaxy S7.
The majority of consumers have been selecting the Galaxy S8+." Samsung added that it's already noticing at least 10 percent growth over last year in the few weeks since pre-orders for the smartphone went on sale.
This suggests a few things.
Consumers don't seem to be worried that the Galaxy S8 will face similar problems as the Note 7.
Also Samsung's finding that consumers are preferring the larger Galaxy S8+ suggests that buyers are still chasing bigger screens.
Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus officially launch in the U.S. on April 21.
