4 qualities successful people have in common - and how to create them

Most accept that successful people were blessed at birth with a rare combination of talents.

Take, for example, Elon Musk. People say he has managed to build his empire because he is a genius. It can be extremely intelligent, but beyond that it works insanely. He is quoted as saying he is too busy to bathe and sometimes even sleeps in Tesla's factory.

In fact, successful people are not born differently from others. They become successful only by establishing the right habits and adhering to them. Over time, everything is up to your habits, which ultimately determine your success. It's not always fun and it's not always easy, but successful people just keep going day by day to do what they need to do.

Here are four attributes that successful people cultivate to rise to the top:

1. They imagine they are at the top

When I set up my company, Nimble Software, I thought, "In fact, I just jumped into the abyss, but all the time I believed I could do it."

I cache my savings and put all my eggs in a basket. I did not have an alternative scenario. So failure was not an option. I knew that in order to succeed, the attitude was everything. Most of all, you have to believe in your idea. Otherwise, things just will not work for you.

2. They are surrounded by people who think similarly.

When you start your own business, people will doubt you.

After all, you take a big risk by leaving a permanent salary and starting something uncertainty from scratch. This is not an easy way, and when you are surrounded by people who doubt you, it is very difficult. If the only voices you hear are negative, you are more likely to opt out.

But if those around you offer good advice and, more importantly, believe in your idea, the chances are that you will succeed.

3. Fight after each failure

When I started creating the main product for NimbleSchedule, we tried several different versions of the technology at the beginning that did not work.

They were not right for us, so we had to do a lot from the beginning. Instead of letting these obstacles reach us, we instead accepted the difficulties to heart and believed that the ultimate goal is worthwhile.

If you are fixed on an idea how things should happen, you will surely fail. Very little in this world is in our control, and this is especially true in the business world. Flexibility is a key quality. If a strategy fails, you should be ready to try another.

If you have a flexible attitude, you will not be afraid of the change.

4. Always ready to face the challenge

Fighting is always very difficult - the road is never a straight line and there will always be ups and downs. But when things get really tough, successful people squeeze their teeth and fight.

Think about the story of the company for communication at work, Slack. It was not a success overnight. Slack was a game developer called Tiny Speck who created a multiplayer game called Glitch. When Tiny Speck closed Glitch in 2012, the company shifted its focus to implementing technology that synchronized the characters and actions of the game with an online messaging service.

Slack, which we know today, costs over $ 3.8 billion.

As this story shows, true success happens when people believe in their idea. In other words, successful people are not born successful - they have become so.
