European markets will start the week with rallies, mainly because of the coalition in Germany. This week, we expect the driving force of the market to be precisely that coalition that investors have been waiting for for a long time. The German DAX30 starts trading with a 20-point rise, the French CAC40 7 points higher, and the British UK100 is expected to open slightly, given the negative comments on Brexit.
During the sessions on Friday, the European indices were trading upwards, with stocks in the automotive sector leading. We expect the positivism in the sector to remain and the investors to focus on the banking sector. Due to US tax reform, banks will report much worse than expected Q4 results, and this may lead to temporary downsides. In the long run, however, tax cuts and rising interest rates in the United States will have a very positive impact on the banking sector around the world.
