Esther George is president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and a member of the Federal Open Market Committee, which has authority over U.S. monetary policy. George joined the Fed in 1982 and served much of her career in the Division of Supervision and Risk Management.
George, who has consistently been among the most hawkish Fed officials, said in a speech that Fed's current interest rate target is too low.
She's very skeptical of negative rates but admit that longer-term key rate may not be as high as pre-crisis.
