Word point out that since 1950, when the S&P reached a new historical maximum, after previously it's been under a previous maximum for at least a year, during the next 12 mouths has increased by 14%, according to a study conducted at Oppenheimer. This model was correct 12 out of 13 times since 1950.
"The historical peaks are optimistic," Wald said.
