Asian markets pointed to open lower on Friday, following a mostly lower finish in U.S. stocks.
Australian SPI futures were down 0.2 percent at 5,358, compared to the ASX 200's last close at 5,359.30. Nikkei futures in Chicago were unchanged at 16,655, while Osaka futures were down 0.42 percent at 16,640. The Japanese benchmark index finished Thursday's session at 16,646.34.
Oil prices advanced in the U.S., with Brent crude futures settling up 48 cents at $48.08 a barrel, while U.S. crude futures finished up 47 cents to $46.70.
The Bank of England cut its growth outlook for the U.K. from 2016 through to 2018 on Thursday, as it announced no change to its main interest rate and stock of purchased assets.
Stateside, the Dow Jones industrial average closed modestly up by 0.05 percent, the S&P 500 finished down 0.02 percent and the Nasdaq composite lost 0.49 percent.
