Asia markets set for mixed open

Australian SPI futures were down 0.3 percent at 5,396.0, compared to the S&P/ASX 200's last close at 5,424.25

Nikkei futures in Chicago were near flat at 16,980, while Osaka futures were down 0.18 percent at 16,960. The Nikkei 225 finished at 17,012.44.

In USA the Dow Jones industrial average finished down 0.06 percent at 18526.14, while the S&P 500 ended effectively flat at 2186.16. The Nasdaq composite was the exception among the majors, edging up 0.15 percent to 5283.93, which was fresh intraday and closing records.
