In today's trade, the mood of investors was quite positive, as the US-China talks begin to negotiate to find a positive outcome to the war.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 climbed 3% and Topix jumped 2.93%. In South Korea, Kospi also posted a price jump of about 1.3%. The Australian ASX200 rose by nearly 1.5%. Shanghai is up by nearly 0.50%, Hang Seng by 0.70%, Shenzhen Composite by 1.29%.
Both countries will hold several ministerial meetings starting from today to tomorrow, January 8, in Beijing. There is a working team led by Deputy Diplomate on Trade Negotiations, Jeffrey Gerrish.
On the FX market, the dollar remained at 96,199 from 96.8 from last week. The Japanese yen traded at about 108.49. The Australian dollar recovered from last week's losses and traded around 0.7122 from previous 0.68.
