Major Asian markets remain in mixed territory today as investors monitor the development of a trade front between the two largest economies in the world and their attempts to reach an agreement.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 grew 0.4%, while Topix added 0.8%. Shares of ANA, however, fell more than 0.5% after a report that the company would post more than a 20% drop in revenue.
In South Korea, Kospi trades at a slight loss. ASX 200 in Australia added 0.11%.
Hang Seng in Hong Kong closed its earlier gains down 0.4%, with HSBC losing 1.58% after the lender posted worse quarterly reports. Profit after tax fell 18% yoy.
At the same time, speculation has emerged that Hong Kong will announce negative growth for the year amid ongoing protests that have been ongoing for several months.
