Asian markets are set for a lower opening, we are expecting Australian CPI at 3:30

Loading...Futures pointed to a lower open for Asian markets on Wednesday, following U.S. losses after a busy earnings day and a slip in oil prices.
Nikkei futures in Chicago traded at 17,355, while Osaka futures were at 17,340. The Japanese benchmark index finished at 17,365.25 on Tuesday.
In Australia, the ASX traded 0.74 percent lower in early trade, with most sectors down. The energy sector fell 1.74 percent on the back of lower oil prices, while the heavily-weighted financial sector was down 0.76 percent.
DJIA fell 53.76 points, or 0.3 percent, to 18,169.27. S&P index was down 8.17 points, or 0.38 percent, at 2,143.16, while the Nasdaq dropped 26.43 points, or 0.5 percent, to 5,283.4.
Oil prices slipped on Tuesday, with WTI futures falling 1.1 percent to $49.96 a barrel. Global benchmark Brent fell 1.3 percent to $50.79.
