Despite hopes that the US and China could close the deal soon, markets in Asia remained mixed.
The main Chinese markets were trading in different ways. Shanghai Composite posted a growth of 0.22%, Shenzhen Component fell 0.37% and Shenzhen Composite rose 0.417%.
In Hong Kong, Hang Seng climbed 0.38%, with the rally led by Tencent shares jumping 1.46%.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 climbed 0.43% with the rally led by Fanuc and their growth of 3.72%. Topix rose 0.58%. The jump in Topix and the Japanese markets generally came after Washington and Tokyo reached consensus on their trade relations and reached an initial trade agreement.
MSCI Asia ex - Japan index rose 0.19%.
