Chinese stocks began the session with promotions, with investors closely following developments in Hong Kong. The Hang Seng index rose significantly after the full extradition of the controversial extradition bill.
Hong Kong shares rose 0.45%, following their previous rise of nearly 4% amid initial rumors of the bill being withdrawn.
In China, Shanghai Composite jumped 1.45%, Shenzhen Component rose 1.36% and Shenzhen Composite rose 1.05%.
The Nikkei 225 jumped 1.88%, with Topix recording an increase of nearly 1.81%. Kospi advanced 0.83% and the ASX200 added 0.99% to its value.
MSCI Asia ex-Japan index rose 0.89%.
