Asian markets were trading mixed in the first session of the week. The negative developments of Brexit over the weekend again cast doubt on the UK's successful exit from the EU and weigh on investor determination.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 rose 0.23%, Topix 0.41%. In South Korea, Kospi has erased its initial growth, with the index back to baseline. The ASX200 was down 0.1%.
Major Chinese stocks remained suppressed: Shanghai Composite was down 0.51%, Shenzhen Composite was down 0.52% and Shenzhen Component was down 0.11%.
In Hong Kong, Hang Seng rose 0.17%.
MSCI Asia ex - Japan index rose 0.19%.
The dollar index traded at 97.430, the Japanese yen remained strong at 108.49 and the Australian dollar held positions at 0.6863.
Oil opened with decreases, the crude variety being traded at 53.66, and the Brent variety at 59.22.
