Apple inc. revealed its intentions to produce its own iPhone displays. Minutes after it became clear that Apple intends to terminate contracts for the supply of screen devices, the shares of Samsung Electronics Co. wiped out early earnings while Japan Display Inc. fell by 4.8% and Sharp Corp. decreased by 3.4%.
The technology giant has made a significant investment in the development of next-generation MicroLED displays, internal sources say. The MicroLED screen uses a variety of light-emitting compounds and, compared to current OLED displays, promise to make future gadgets thinner, brighter and less hungry.
