The phrase "best-selling model" is a relative concept when it comes to luxury brands with low-volume sales, but the Bentley Continental GT is indeed the most successful car of the British company.
Existing models such as the Aston Martin DB11, the Mercedes S-Class Coupe and the Rolls-Royce Wraith received their facelift earlier this year and were well received on the luxury car market. Now is the order of the nobleman with blue blood from Great Britain. A few days ago, Bentley officially introduced the new generation of Continental GT with the promise of surpassing rivals in its class with a whole new look and technology borrowed directly from the Breitling aircraft.
Exterior
The new Continental is longer than its predecessor, with significantly more wheelbase, which contributes to a better ride, better driving and more room for passengers.
The impression is that the company is relying on brand new backlights with one section compared to those of the previous model which were divided into two.
In the front of the car company betting on a wider radiator grille and handmade headlamps made of finely cut crystal glass.
Engine and technical characteristics
The model will be available for sale with just one engine and this is the 6.0 liter W12, which, according to Bentley engineers, is the most modern engine in the world. The power is increased to 626 hp, which allows acceleration to 100 km / h. for just 3.7 seconds, driving the car to legends like the Ferrari Enzo, the Nissan GT-R and the McLaren SLR. At a later stage, the company promises to be introduced on the production line and the 4.0 liter Bi-Turbo used by VAG in the RS series of Audi and Porsche Panamera.
Interior
The interior of the Continental GT is as luxurious as you expect it to be, hand-crafted from very fine leather and chrome finish. The seats in the car are made of embossed leather shaped in diamonds to be as comfortable as possible.
Bentley proves that these types of upholstery allow the most efficient cooling, heating and massage. The biggest internal innovation is the rotating central display, which, when the engine is switched off, merges with the skin and wood used to make the dashboard, and when ignited it rotates and a 12.2 inch HD Touchscreen comes out before you. The rotary module has 3 sides, the third one being analogue: external thermometer, compass and stopwatch.
Bentley also uses laminated acoustic glass for windscreen and side windows, which, according to the company, reduces driving noise.
The price
The top-of-the-line W12 will start at £ 156,700 and the 4.0-liter engine will be cheaper than the direct competitor - Rolls Royce Wraith. The quoted prices are starting and, according to the high customer requirements, they can even jump.
