According to people close to the case, Boeing is in open negotiations with China to order 100 of its 787 Dreamliners planes, as well as the purchase of the new 777X. The order is made from an unnamed Chinese airline. The final price of the deal will depend on the final number of aircraft ordered, but it is speculated that the value could jump to $ 30 billion.

The 777X is Boeing's newest aircraft, with the first test flights ahead of the end of this month. However, this is not only the airline's newest airplane, but it is also the most expensive. A 777X only costs $ 442.2 million.

However, the deal may fail. If China imposed tariffs on US aircraft, the price increase would be 25% in response to US tariffs.

If we assume, however, Boeing succeeds with its timing, the first 777X will be delivered to the United Arab Emirates next year. However, Boeing has to deal with other obstacles. Certification of the new aircraft may be a slightly more complicated process. After the two 737MAX airplane incidents, the company faced a lot of pressure to change the certification.

Other companies that have placed orders on the new 777X are British Airways and Singapore Airlines. So far, the company has 344 orders for their new aircraft.
