The Bank of Japan bought corporate bonds from financial firms this week at yields below zero for the first time in 11 months, in a development that may encourage companies to sell more debt. In its latest monthly operation, the average purchasing rate fell to negative 0.049 percent. If that contributes to a
drop in borrowing costs in the primary market, it could lead to more issuance, which ultimately will help companies that struggle with the strong JPY.
