The UK Parliament will today vote on Boris Johnson's proposal for a December 12th election. He is expected to suffer another setback. To pass the bill, it needs a 2/3 majority in parliament that Johnson does not currently have. It's even far away.
The opposition is expected to vote against this proposal until it completely disappears with no Brexit deal. It is speculated that some of the smaller parties may support B.J., with some suggesting that the date be changed to the 9th.
This week, we also expect the European Union to decide whether to grant another extension to Brexit by 31 January 2020. The decision is expected to be taken no later than Tuesday. The trade-off is for release on December 1, 2019 or January 1, 2020, but only if the deal is ratified. The EU does not intend to renegotiate the deal.
