The Irish economy grew by 1.9% in the three months to the end of June compared to the first quarter, the expansion for the eighth time in the last nine quarters.
Ireland is on track to be the fastest growing economy in Europe for the second consecutive year, not bad for a country that needs bailout from its European partners in 2010
The strong second quarter followed an increase of 2.1% in the first three months. Furthermore, the Irish economy grew by 6.7 percent compared with the same quarter of last year, said the Central Statistics Office Ireland (CSO).
