Chinese exchanges from New Year enters in usea new mechanism to prevent strong jumps in quotes. The system will automatically stop trading at a case of change in the price of key index SHSZ300: IND (Shanghai Shenzhen CSI 300 Index) more than 5%. Suspension of trading will be 30 min., and in case of more than 7% - for one day.
The measure was developed after July’scollapse of SHANGHAI STOCK EXCHANGE. On July 8 2015, CSI 300 Index fell 6.7 percent and panic followed, after which for nearly 500 public companies trading was stopped.
