Trump has again embarrassed investors, saying he would withdraw the United States from the World Trade Organization (WTO) if he continues to criticize the country for international trade.
The withdrawal of the United States from the WTO would seriously undermine the multilateral trading system built after World War II, with the help of the United States.
Trump said the United States is in a very unfavorable position because the Geneva-based organization treats the country extremely unfavorably. In support of Trump, Robert Lighthizer, a US sales agent, added that China's WTO accession was a huge mistake. He has long urged the US to take a more aggressive approach to the WTO, claiming that the organization is unable to cope with a non-market economy such as China.
Trump's statement and the broad support he received further pushed the indices at the end of the US session, while also expecting to contribute to the negative start and end of the Asian session today. The bottom line seems to support the short positions of Asian indices.
