The dollar gained for a fourth straight session Wednesday after minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee’s Jan. 30-31 meeting showed that policy makers grew more positive on the U.S. economic outlook and increasingly optimistic about reaching their 2 percent inflation goal.
The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback against a basket of leading global currencies, rose 0.4 percent Wednesday, notching its longest stretch of daily gains since December.
It continued to firm in Asian trading Thursday.
