Amid the global stock rout, emerging-market bulls recommend taking a step back to review corporate profit forecasts. Analysts see MSCI Emerging Markets Index members’ earnings per share rising about 30 percent in the next 12 months and growing through 2020. “What drove last year’s rally continues to be the case," said Edward Evans, an equities portfolio manager at Ashmore Group Plc in London. "Reported earnings are growing and expectations continue to improve, so our focus is on earnings."
