Earning reports push indices higher in front of the US open

S futures point to a positive start at the opening of US markets today.

Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs have outpaced Wall Street's expectations and this is why we expect to see positivism at the start of the US markets. BlackRock's reports were mixed as profits were above expectations, while sales below.

DJIA is expected to open up by more than 150 points, with Johnson & Johnson part of the index also surpassing analysts' expectations in today's report.

Following the closing of the markets today, we are expecting a Netflix report, which is the main question mark for investors today.

In the FX market CAD has continued to rise due to expectations of growth in the price of oil. GBP received support from better hourly earnings data earlier in the European session. USD is losing ground and for now declines against all currencies, except for the safe heaven currencies JPY and CHF, which are down due to the stunning stock market storm.
