Emerging-market stocks are putting a decade-long period of decline behind them, according to Ari Wald, Oppenheimer & Co.’s head of technical analysis. Wald cited the performance of the MSCI Emerging Markets Index in a report Monday. The indicator rose 4.5 percent last week, and the move
was at odds with its pattern of lower peaks since setting a record in October 2007. The advance provides support for a scenario “in which global equities, both developed and emerging, join the U.S.” in a years-long climb, he wrote.
