The euro has rallied almost 9 percent against the pound since touching this year’s low in April, and an extension of the trend would put it on track to reach parity by the end of December.
While the European Central Bank is moving toward a slowing of bond purchases, the Bank of England gave few signs in its interest-rate decision on Thursday that it is heading for a policy shift any time soon.
Still, Bloomberg’s FX Rate Forecast Model shows the odds of the euro reaching parity against sterling by year-end is just about 5 percent.
