European equities are expected to open higher Tuesday as investors keep an eye on the next policy meeting of the U.S. Federal Reserve on Thursday at which it could decide to increase interest rates.
Investors in Europe are awaiting the highly-anticipated policy meeting and interest rate decision of the Fed later this week. The central bank's Open Market Committee meets on Wednesday and will announce its rate decision Thursday.
In Asia overnight, shares traded mixed on Tuesday as cautious sentiment prevailed ahead of the Fed meeting, alongside other risk events including a sudden leadership change in Australia, where Prime Minister Tony Abbott was ousted from power by Malcolm Turnbull Monday.
