Europe Shares Could Move 6% on French Election

The Euro Stoxx 50 April/May ATMF volatility implies a one day move of 6.3% following the French election.

* When taking into account the June ATMF volatility, the implied move becomes 5.5% as the upward term structure pushes the second background volatility higher.

* Euro Stoxx 50 options are pricing in a 20% probability of a -11% move, higher than what was expected for Brexit immediately before the event.

* The chance of an adverse outcome pushing the VStoxx to 31 is 33%, while the probability of the index going to 19 is 67%

* June contracts are pricing in a smaller risk

*JPM recommends IBEX 35 versus Euro Stoxx 50 June as trade prices areattractively and worked in the past in periods of financial stress
