European markets to open lower today 05.01.2016

European markets will open in negative territory today after a shaky performance of Asian markets.

German DAX is expected to open 3 points lower at 11 583, French CAC 5 points lower at 4899 and the London FTSE 13 points lower at 7185.

Yesterday th Minutes from FED meeting showed some uncertainty from the upcoming Trump policy. Plans for fiscal stimulus increases the probability of an increase in interest rates in the US earlier, which could have a negative effect on stock markets. This creates prerequisites for caution on new purchases of the indices.

UK Ambassador to the EU resigns, creating new tensions over pound.

Oil is trading with decline during Asian hours, since there are doubts about whether Iraq will comply with the latest OPEC agreement. The decrease is negative for the stock market.

The economic calendar today we turn our attention over data on Consumer Price Index from Switzerland at 10:15 GMT+2 and protocol of the meeting of the ECB in 14:30 GMT+2.
