A U.S.-listed exchange-traded fund tracking European stocks is seeing a surge in interest as American investors position themselves ahead of the French elections. The number of options traded on the SPDR Euro Stoxx 50 ETF climbed to a record on Tuesday, while the volume of shares changing hands reached the highest level of the year. Traders are betting on “limited upside and decreased volatility for May” in the fund, which is mostly comprised of French equities, according to Susquehanna International Group LLP’s Alison Edwards.
