Lloyd Craig Blankfein (Chairman & CEO of Goldman Sachs) was born in the Bronx, in a very poor family on September 20, 1954.

He worked as a savior on the beach, a hot dog vendor, and at night in the sorting department of the mail. Winning a scholarship at Harvard and continuing to work to support, and in the university cafe. In 1978, he reached a law degree, then joined Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine as a lawyer for corporate taxes.

1981 unexpectedly decided to abandon his legal career and start from the beginning in the investment sphere. Makes many unsuccessful attempts in almost all major companies. In the end, they took him into a small "J. Aron & Company" company working on the commodity exchange. 1984 is already managing a 6-person trader's department after he has made the largest deal in the company's history for $100 million.

1994 headed "J. Aron & Company". The company, meanwhile, was bought by Goldman and 1998 Blankfein was appointed Chief Financial Officer with Fixed Returns. Since 2002, he has been Deputy Governor of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and in 2006 he became Chairman & CEO of Goldman Sachs.

For 2006, his income is $54.4 million (cash, share and options), making Wall Street the highest paying manager.

The Financial Times is "2009 Person of the Year," with the explanation that "his personal qualities and work have made him the most popular Wall Street public figure in the worst period since 1930."
