FT: Brexit uncertainty expected to hit business investment, consumers in 2019

The Financial Times reports on their annual poll of 80 economists, with a dour view of growth prospects to come this year:

Uncertainty will hobble UK business investment and depress consumer spending in 2019.

Many said forecasting for 2019 was impossible given the "comprehensive" and "chronic" uncertainty that had become "a way of life" in the UK.

Majority of those who ventured a numerical forecast expected growth of no more than 1.5 per cent over the course of 2019.
