German prosecutors have begun preliminary investigations into the roles of individuals, who may have a connection with the participation of Deutsche Bank in the manipulation of interest rates.
The German regulator is investigating Deutsche Bank and the role played by the financial crisis, when global interbank lending rate was manipulated.
Any new investigation will deepen and complicate the task of CEO John Krayan, who took office for the first time on Wednesday.
Krayan was named the new CEO after one of the bank executives quit in June after a series of regulatory hassle.
Nadia Niessen, a senior prosecutor said that the preliminary investigation had been opened.
Deutsche Bank said on Friday, "BaFin report confirms our findings that are not present or former members of the Board or the Executive Committee of Deutsche Bank Group is instructed employees to manipulate intra-bank offered rates (IBOR) or were aware with any fraud attempts before June 2011. "
