Later today, at 10:00 pm, Mario Draghi will speak at Jackson Hall about monetary policy in the eurozone. It is expected to give more clarity to the program of quantitative easing that ends at the end of this year. At recent meetings, Draghi refused to engage in concrete actions, once hinting at the ECB's ability to move on.
Today, hopes for traders to get more information from Draghi, about monetary policy have fallen, as sources point out that he will stick to the theme of the symposium, namely "Promoting a dynamic global economy."
According to Goldman Sachs and Danske Bank, Draghi will only give a brief message on what he means but will not commit himself to anything concrete. According to experts from both banks, the most logical thing the ECB can do is to update current monetary policy.
