Събития, които предизвикаха протести в Индия за налагане на правителствен контрол върху цените на горивата. Засегнатия внос вече се отразява негативно върху търговските баланси на потърпевшите държави.
Два фактора се отразяват негативно върху глобалното търсене на петрол и неговият растеж - единият е именно високите цени на петрола, тъй като в много държави, цената му е в пряка корелация с потребителските цени. Втората причина е, че инерцията към глобален растеж се забавя.
Цената в момента се намира под 200 - дневната пълзяща средна и намери подкрепа на линия на диагонал и тренд линия, където формира дъно на цена $65.81.
