Irma weakened to tropical storm status on Monday as it continued its pathnorth through Florida, leaving in its wake massive flooding and at least 4.7 million without power. The storm is expected to pass through southwestern Georgia later today and eastern Alabama tonight and Tuesday, according to a National Hurricane Center advisory at 8 a.m. New York time. Meanwhile, Hurricane Jose has weakened to a Category 2 storm spinning in the Atlantic.
