U.S. stocks advanced on Monday, posting back-to-back gains for the first time since a selloff took hold after Jan. 26. The Nasdaq Composite Index turned positive for the year, while the S&P 500 Index is still down 0.7 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average off 0.5 percent. The Cboe Volatility Index edged lower as the S&P 500 had its biggest two-day advance in 18 months ahead of consumer-price data due Wednesday, which may pressure Treasuries.
