Yellen was asked about whether the risks of a December hike outweigh the benefits. She gives a long, long answer. Basically, she said that the Fed decided at its policy meeting last week that the downside risks to the economy from overseas turmoil have diminished and December is a live meeting for a rate hike. No decision has been made about whether to pull the trigger, she stressed although she sounded upbeat about the economy and very much like she’s leaning towards a move.
