Goldman Sachs Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Blankfein said on Thursday, that Goldman Sachs would create a $5 billion investment fund with China public investment fund. The fund will primarily target investments by US companies that could gain better access to the Chinese market.
Chinese investment corporation CIC and Goldman promised to share the investment, with each country investing money in the fund and helping companies in their respective countries, said Blankfein in an interview with Beijing.
Blankfein travels with President Donald Trump as part of a business delegation led by US Secretary of Trade Wilbur Ross and it is possible that the CEO of one of the largest US banks has concluded additional agreements during the trip.
