Louis Bacon has also won by betting against the markets on Black Monday like Paul Tudor Jones, but this is not his biggest triumph.

He formed his first company in 1990 and shortly after pulled off one of the greatest trades ever. He successfully predicted international political events during the Saddam Hussein regime. He decided to use unusual techniques by trading in macro investments to go long on oil and short on stocks. By the end of the year, the company has already returned the unbelievable 86% of the investments in the fund. Later, Bacon succeeded by shorting the Nikkei index, while the Japanese markets collapsed.

Today, Bacon is still one of the leading traders, with returns between 25-35% per year for over a decade. His ability to read markets continues to reap rewards for those who invest with him.
