U.S. opened flat on Thursday following a record-breaking session for the Dow Jones industrial average.
Shortly after the bell, the Dow traded 12 points lower, with Goldman Sachs contributing the most losses. The S&P 500 fell 0.1 percent. The Nasdaq composite fell just below breakeven.
The DJIA is currently trading at $ 220,155 as opposed to its counterparts. The S & P 500 is trading with a slight decrease near $ 2472, down 3.7 points from the opening price.
The Nasdaq opened in a green territory, with the most profits coming from Tesla's shares. The index is currently trading at around $ 5894.35.
The pound suffered the biggest drop since last month, after BoE left the interest rates unchanged. At his press conference, Mark Carney said the effects of Brexit would negatively affect the economy and slow down growth.
