European stocks are expected to open lower on Friday as markets in Asia and crude oil prices pause for breath.
The London FTSE index is expected to open 17 points lower at 6,852, the German DAX down 22 points at 10,581 and the French CAC down 13 points at 4424.
Meanwhile, oil prices rose tentatively overnight on further news suggesting OPEC and other major exporters could consider a deal to tackle the global oversupply.
