McAfee's cyber security company is considering its IPO later this year. Currently, the company is working with Intel Corporation and private companies TPG and Thoma Bravo, and has already had meetings with various banks for a possible opportunity for the company to return to the public market. Of course, this is not yet fully confirmed, with the potential for McAfee to be sold or continue to operate independently.
McAfee was estimated at $ 4.2 billion with the debt included three years ago when TPG bought a 51% stake in Intel and Intel acquired McAfee in 2011. According to the initial speculation, McAfee's IPO could raise at least $ 1 billion and the company would be revalued to $ 5 billion. The IPO itself may be announced at the end of this year or early 2020.
