Futures pointed to a lower open for Asian markets on Tuesday, following a softer session over at Wall Street as investors await a widely expected Federal Reserve rate hike this week and monitor regional political developments.
Nikkei 225 were down 0.6 percent at 19040, Australia's ASX 200 opened down 0.27 percent, in US The Dow Jones industrial average was the only major U.S. index to rise, and it closed at a new record high, up 0.2 percent at 19,796.43. The S&P 500 index slipped 0.11 percent, to close at 2,256.96 while the Nasdaq composite finished down 0.59 percent at 5,412.54.
