American indices will open lower today after the European markets were traded lower for the most of the session. The negative sentiment may cast a shadow over the American session as well. The futures of the NASDAQ are lower than the rest of the indices.
Google received a penalty from the European Commission with $2.7 bl. due to a monopoly like business actions. Stock price of the company is around 1% lower on premarket
Investors are cautious and awaiting the speech from Janet Yellen at 20:00 (our time) and are hoping to get hints of the future action of the Central Bank in regards of the next interest rate hike. The last economic data were not very good and now the markets are not so positive for another rate hike this year.
The USD remains very weak against most currencies. Gold is up slightly to around $1250. The price of Oil remains under pressure trading around $43.80 per barrel.
Traders will pay attention to the upcoming data today like the foreign investments in the USA, CB Consumer Confidence and the speeches from Harker and Yellen from FED. If data is better than expected it may support the USD and if not, then we might see higher prices of the indices.
