Japan’s Nikkei 225 Stock Average headed for a correction as the equity gauge retreated 10 percent from its 26-year closing high of 24,124.15 reached on Jan. 23. Japanese equity markets tumbled after a frantic selloff in U.S. equity markets sent the Dow Jones Industrial Average to its biggest loss in six and a half years. The last time the Japanese gauge had a slump of similar magnitude was in June 2016.
