On Saturday, April 9th, Pacquiao defeated Timothy Bradley by consentient decision, scoring two knockdowns and putting an end to what has been controversial, but at the same time friendly competition.

The fight was the end of three-fight series starting from 2012, when Bradley won. The victory was shocking and controversial. But, in 2014, Pacquaio won the rematch, which everyone thought he deserved. In two years, on Saturday night, after the loss to Mayweather, shoulder surgery and 11 months out of the ring, the two met once again. Pacquiao announced that the fight against Bradley would be his last one. Pacquiao had other options to consider: young and wild Terence Crawford or dangerous fighter Amir Khan. After long absence on the ring, Bradley was Pacquiao's safest rival.

Things were different as they were in 2012 and 2014, but at the same time the same. Pacquiao was faster than Bradley, more dynamic than Bradley and simply a harder puncher - as he had always been. In the 7th round, Manny Pacquiao scored a knockdown and Bradley's gloves touched canvas, but in the 8th round Bradley hurt Pacquiao for the first time during their 3-fight period. In the 9th round, Bradley was down with no doubt.

Even though Pacquiao stated that his boxing days are over, a serious career is waiting for his ahead - this summer he has Senate elections. He has been a Congressman for a long time now, raising money for poor areas of the nation. Pacquaiao became not just a sport legend - he is a cultural icon.

The boxer could not finish his career any better than this - it was a good fight with a good rival.
