An election in Catalonia on Thursday gives voters another chance to say whether the region should remain within Spain or press ahead with its fight to break away. Neither side is likely to win a resounding mandate in the vote, which will fill all 135 seats in the assembly in Barcelona, according to final polls before a blackout period began Dec. 16. Polling stations close at 8 p.m.
