Ray Dalio (born August 1, 1949) is an American businessman and founder of the investment firm Bridgewater Associates. In 2012, Dalio appeared on the annual Time 100 list of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2011 and 2012 he was listed by Bloomberg Markets, one of the 50 most influential people. Institutional investor Alpha ranked him № 2 spot in 2012 in their Rich List. According to Forbes, he is on the 30th place as the richest man in America and 69th, as the richest man in the world with a net worth of $ 15.2 billion from October 2014.

Dalio was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, USA. Dalio started investing 12 years old when he bought shares of Northeast Airlines for $ 300 and tripled its investment after the airline merged with another company. He received his BA from the University of Long Island and a degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

After graduating, Dalio works on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange and invests in commodity futures. He later served as director of goods Dominique and Dominique LLC. In 1974 he became a futures trader and broker Sherson Hayden Stone. In 2013 Dalio started to share his "investment secrets" and economic theories to YouTube by 30 minute animated video in which he tells how economic machine work, the video was viewed over one million times.

Dalio was born as the only child of Italian and American parents. He practiced the Transcendental Meditation technique and lives with his wife in Greenwich, Connecticut.

In 2014, Dalio is referred to as the richest man in the state of Connecticut, with an estimated net worth of $ 14.3 billion.
