На заседанието си днес Управителният съвет реши да намали паричната ставка с 25 базисни пункта до 1.00%. Това е след подобно намаляване на срещата на Съвета през юни. Това облекчаване на паричната политика ще подпомогне растежа на заетостта и ще осигури по-голяма увереност, че инфлацията ще бъде в съответствие със средносрочната цел.
Перспективите за световната икономика остават разумни. Въпреки това несигурността, породена от търговските и технологичните спорове, засяга инвестициите и означава, че рисковете за световната икономика остават налице. В по-напредналите икономики инфлацията остава потисната, безработицата е ниска и ръстът на заплатите е нараснал. Забавянето на световната търговия допринесе за забавяне на растежа в Азия. В Китай властите са предприели стъпки за подкрепа на икономиката, като продължават да се занимават с рисковете във финансовата система.
Днес решението да се намали паричният процент ще спомогне за по-нататъшно навлизане в свободния капацитет в икономиката. Тя ще съдейства за по-бърз напредък в намаляването на безработицата и ще постигне по-сигурен напредък към целта на инфлацията. Бордът ще продължи да следи отблизо развитието на пазара на труда и да коригира паричната политика, ако е необходимо, за да подкрепи устойчивия растеж в икономиката и постигането на целта на инфлацията с течение на времето.
